VPN Connection

This guide explains how to connect to the Etnetera corporate VPN.

Requirements

  • Company laptop or approved device
  • VPN client installed (see below)
  • Login credentials from the IT team (sent by email on your first day)

Installing the Client

macOS

bash
brew install --cask tunnelblick

Or download the installer from tunnelblick.net.

Windows

Download and install OpenVPN GUI from the official source.

Linux

bash
sudo apt install openvpn network-manager-openvpn-gnome

Configuration

  1. Contact the IT team via Slack #it-help — we'll send you an .ovpn configuration file.
  2. Import the configuration into your VPN client.
  3. Sign in with your corporate credentials (same as Google Workspace).

Connecting

Once the configuration is imported:

  1. Open the VPN client
  2. Select the etnetera-prod profile
  3. Click Connect
  4. Enter your password (if MFA is configured, approve in the Authenticator app)

Important

VPN is required to access internal systems (GitLab, Confluence, internal APIs). Without VPN you will only have access to public resources.
