Description
Slack is the primary communication tool at Etnetera and across the ETNG group. It replaces email for daily team communication, operational alerts, and helpdesk.
Key uses:
- Team communication in channels (
#[team]-[purpose]) - Direct messages and group calls
- IT helpdesk: channel
#it-help - Automated infrastructure alerts: channel
#it-alerts - Integrations with Jira, GitHub/GitLab, Google Calendar
- Guests (clients, vendors) in private channels
Login
- Desktop app: download at slack.com/downloads
- Web: app.slack.com
- Login: click Sign in with Google or Sign in with Microsoft → corporate account
SSO Login
Always sign in using Continue with Google (corporate @etnetera.cz) or Microsoft — do not create a standalone Slack account with a password.
How to Get Access
New employees receive an invitation automatically during onboarding. If no invitation arrived:
- Write to

User Management (for admins)
Deactivate User (Offboarding)
- Slack Admin → Members → [user]
- Click Deactivate Account
Add External Guest
- Slack Admin → Workspace Settings → Invitations
- Click Invite People → Guest
- Enter email and select accessible channels
Communication Etiquette
- Use
@namenotifications only when truly necessary - Use channels instead of DMs for things that might interest others
- For urgent IT issues write to
#it-help(not direct to Artem/Filip) @hereand@channelare reserved for genuinely important announcements
Troubleshooting

| Cannot see channel | Channel may be private — ask the channel owner for access |
| Notifications not working | Slack → Preferences → Notifications; check system notification settings |
